FAQ

Though many of our providers are traditionally trained in primary care and naturopathic medicine, we choose to focus on reversal and prevention of chronic disease and emphasize tools to optimize health and longevity. We recommend that all of our patients maintain relationships with their primary care providers who can provide general physicals and acute care needs.
Functional medicine is a systems biology–based approach that focuses on identifying and addressing the root cause of disease. Each symptom or differential diagnosis may be one of many contributing to an individual’s illness.
Longevity medicine represents an exciting new chapter in health care whereby the underlying drivers of disease and aging are better identified so that interventions can be applied to slow down the cellular aging process and ultimately increase the number of healthy years of life.
We take a highly individualized approach in our initial assessments, gathering a thorough health history, reviewing past and current diagnostics and establishing the patient’s unique goals to craft treatment plans that are highly tailored to our patient’s health needs. Typically, a new patient visit lasts 90 minutes and goes far beyond what is offered in conventional medicine.
We offer “fee for service” visits as well as various types of memberships. We do not bill insurance and are out-of-network providers with all carriers. This allows us to provide unencumbered care to our patients without insurance restrictions regarding the time we spend with our patients, diagnostics and treatment. Like many clinics that operate in functional medicine and longevity medicine, we have learned the hard way that insurance companies are stuck in an old paradigm where the patient is not the priority. Often, these companies get in the way of the provider-patient relationship and inhibit our ability to create the best health outcomes for our patients. We believe the provider and patients should make the decision about the best course of care, not insurance companies.
Please visit our pricing page for information about our fees for services and provider appointments.
Pricing for labs We work with dozens of lab companies, and pricing varies depending on the type of diagnostic test as well as the type of insurance a patient has. Though we do not bill insurance, in some instances patients can use their insurance for lab work (primarily for standard lab tests). Functional lab testing and advanced diagnostic tests/screenings are typically not covered by insurance. In many cases, we have secured reduced, cash-based prices for our patients. You can contact our front desk at (971) 770-1655 for specific questions you may have. Our providers always discuss covered vs non-covered testing so patients can make informed choices before proceeding.
We offer various memberships for patients looking for a higher touch experience. Memberships provide a streamlined focus with regular tracking, logical and systematic interventions and pre-established goals to optimize outcomes for each unique patient. This strategic and results-driven approach offers organization and accountability to insure improved wellness and healthspan extension. See our membership page for more information.
Memberships are charged monthly (automated), and patients can cancel at any time. It is the responsibility of the patient to cancel if/when appropriate to avoid any unintended charges.
Memberships can be canceled at any time and there are no refunds. We encourage patients to communicate with us should they wish to cancel/modify their membership, which can be done at any time.
We do not offer refunds for any aspects of our membership programs. Ultimately it is the responsibility of the patient to ensure they are getting the most out of their membership program. Memberships are month-to-month, and patients can cancel at any time.
Members receive a 10% discount on supplements, services and labs. We’ll provide a discount code for you to use upon initiation of your membership.

Each of our providers hold advanced degrees and training in functional medicine, longevity and holistic care. You can read more about the professional designations and backgrounds of each of our providers by visiting our Team page.
A nurse practitioner, or NP, is a professional medical designation denoting an individual who is fully qualified as a nurse and who has additional qualifications and authorization to provide some diagnoses and/or treatments which can otherwise be provided only by a licensed medical doctor.
Naturopathic doctors are educated and trained in accredited naturopathic medical colleges. They diagnose, prevent and treat acute and chronic illness to restore and establish optimal health by supporting the person's inherent self-healing process. Rather than just suppressing symptoms, naturopathic doctors work to identify underlying causes of illness and develop personalized treatment plans to address them, which may include lifestyle interventions, herbs, pharmaceutical drugs, homeopathy and natural remedies as appropriate.
Our functional nutritionists hold master’s degrees and board certifications representing their vast knowledge of not only nutrition science but also functional medicine. They deliver evidence-based functional medicine to our patients using various laboratory assessments, nutrition assessments and thorough health history to identify a personalized nutrition protocol aimed at improving or reversing chronic disease and optimizing healthspan. They work seamlessly with our medical providers when appropriate and are integral to our approach at BioLounge.
